Great excursion with Phil

My family (7 of us) had a great time with Phil today! We cruised into Falmouth, and Phil was waiting for us. He was easy to find and his bus was clean and modern. Phil was very polite and informative during our drive. We got to Blue Hole, and we all loved the beautiful water and the fun jumps and rope swings. Phil waited for us and kept our things safe on the bus. We got back to port in plenty of time, and Phil was very flexible in allowing us to decide what we wanted to do. We all felt safe and well-taken care of on the trip. This was our third time to use Phil’s great service, and we will always book with him in the future. I am not always that easy to please but Phil Lafayette exceeded all expectations!

There is no other way to see Jamaica than with the Fabulous Phil Lafayette! Phil is a very special person and it showed by the way he is so honored and respected by the locals on the island. We felt like royalty from the start....when we arrived at the port, it was very, very busy with traffic and people. We mentioned to one of the taxi/tour drivers that we had reservations with Phil. He immediately called Phil on his phone to let him know that we were with him and that he would keep us in a safe area until Phil arrived. There was some confusion with the time change and our ship arriving early....not at all Phil\'s fault. We didn\'t mind waiting as long as we knew we were in the right place. When this driver, Marc, saw Phil pull up he personally escorted us to the sidewalk letting the other drivers know we were with Phil and they graciously let us through and exchanged greetings! Ya Mon!!

Phil met us with a big smile and a hug and showed us to his very comfortable tour bus. We had planned to do the Blue Hole waterfall and tubing. Due to some weather that had been through the area over the last few days, we were unable to do this excursion as the waters were getting a lot of run-off and were not very safe. Phil was so honest and forthcoming right away with this information. He offered us a few other options and recommended Konoko Falls. He told us about the crowds due to how many ships were in port so he knew what would be best, but left the decision up to us. Konoko Falls was wonderfull! We were still able to visit and climb a beautiful falls with a great guide and the gardens were amazing. On the way to Konoko Falls, Phil took us down some local roads where we could visit with some of the island artisans. We could see how much they appreciate Phil bringing them customers....their carvings were beautiful. We drove up partly into the Fern Gully which was so pretty and over to an amazing grand overlook. We stopped at a local gift and merchandise shop and we felt very welcomed there to shop freely with no pressure. Then Phil took us to Scotchie\'s for lunch. Phil placed the orders for us with his personal favorites and it was delicious. The pork and rice were perfect and the fried sweet cornbread was insane! Phil knows everyone...at every stop we made he was always greeted by the locals, smiling and making conversation. He made us feel like we were all family and friends. Phil told us so much about the history of Jamaica and his experiences growing up there. His stories are as much funny as they are informative. Lots of laughing and singing with Phil....and also learning some of the Jamaican language.....Ya mon, No problem, mon, and Iree (sp?) which means awesome! Phil went out of his way to make us feel like we were \"ambassadors\" of Jamaica.....which is what he sets out to do on every tour.

Our tour with Phil was relatively private, only 4 of us, due to the Corona virus impact starting to take effect. We enjoyed having quality time with Phil, but we know that his livelihood depends on tourists and the cruise ships. Unfortunately, our ship was the last cruise before the cruise travel ban was implemented. Our hearts go out to Phil and everyone in Jamaica who is effected by the impacts of the virus. But what really touched our hearts the most was that it was Phil who personally called us about a week after our tour to ask how we were doing and if we were ok after news had broken that someone on our ship had been flown out of Jamaica that day with the virus! Like I said, Phil is a very special person. As soon as we are able to travel again and we can get to Jamaica, we will absolutely be calling Phil to spend the day with him again. We know we have a friend in Jamaica!

We just took our second tour with Phil and had a wonderful day! This time we went to the Blue Hole and tubing. Both were great fun, and Phil took good care of us. The Blue Hole is so beautiful and much less crowded than Dunn Falls. Phil met us at the port in Falmouth, and his bus was very nice and air conditioned. Phil\'s love for Jamaica is evident in his stories and talking to him about his home. After we were done, Phil took us to a very nice lunch spot for authentic Jamaican jerk chicken and pork. It was delicious! I definitely recommend Phil for a safe and enjoyable day in Jamaica. Thanks, Phil!

Phil took us to Blue Hole and River Tubing. Great time. Great guide. Phil really knows his stuff and was a great pleasure for the entire ride. Undiscovered gem. Also took us to a hidden restaurant that was amazing.

Great day we had last week. Phil was great and very time conscious because the time restriction we had. He got us back to our boat on time and my family had a great time. All 9 of us had a good time and were very well protected by Protective phil. Thanks for some great memories.

What a perfect day! Phil took my extended family of 13 on a trip we will remember forever. This was our second trip with Phil. Our first one was in 2010 with another couple. This time it was just my husband and I and it needs to be at four people usually for a trip. We were able figure out a deal and it was fantastic day! We went to Blue Hole, river tubing, lunch, and shopping. Phil kept us on time all day, so we could just live \"in the moment\". Everything he suggested was great and that day was the highlight of our cruise vacation!

From the first impression to the very last moments Phil was absolutely amazing, so friendly and easy to get along with. You get to know about the culture, history of jamacia and become a proper jamacian for the day. 110% recommended him and his recommendations they were perfect attractions to visit for families.

The morning of our arrival in Jamaica, we discovered that our diving tour had been cancelled. On our way back to the ship to make new plans, we came across Jamaica Phil, who was getting ready to take some of our fellow shipmates on a tour and we decided to join them.

We certainly did not regret our decision one bit - Phil was a fantastic host and passionate about the history and roots of his country and his people. Our ride to the blue hole was entertaining and just as much a part of the trip as the main event.

The Blue Hole in Ocho Rios was amazing - and everything I did not know I could expect in Jamaica...the amazing, crystal blue waterfalls surrounded by limestone and dense luscious vegetation will leave you in awe - and give you real interactions of the people of Ocho Rios.

And if this was not enough - we ended our trip at scotchies for the most amazing food - I cannot say enough about the jerk pork (oh and go ahead and get two orders of festival - it is so delicious). Thank you again to Jamaica Phil for making our day unexpectedly fantastic!
