Richie Evans. Nascar's first 9 time Champion. If he doesn't get in the Hall of Fame in the 1st round, it would be a huge injustice. |

See! NASCAR aren't you glad you chose CHARLOTTE now? I mean nobody seems interested in the HOF now. That is except for us Carolinians I guess everyone else just thought it was trendy to vote and post and talk smack. Leaving only the obvious question. Where is everybody? Surely someone has an opinion about who deserves induction. That's right! I said it DESERVES. D - E - S - E - R - V - E - S Just because your particular town didn't win the HOF doesn't mean NASCAR won't listen to your opinions. No I won't laugh at you. Nor will anybody else for that matter. We're done laughing by now. So come talk your smack now. Or are you too busy with other sports. Through thick and thin I said. What you thought I was full of it didn't you? I got another "D" word for you. Dedicated! I can't wait to visit the HOF in CHARLOTTE,NC. |

If there are more than 3 drivers/year entering the HOF NASCAR will run out of drivers who deserve induction quick. In 56 years of racing there are only 28 different drivers who've won a championship. 13 of whom have only won once. Leaving us fans room for (yawn) dominance. 7 drivers have won 3 or more times. Lee and Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough and Darrell Waltrip total for a whopping 30 Championships Sure there are plenty of great drivers, just not many champions. Junior Johnson, "Fireball" Roberts, Harry Gant, Tim Richmond, Davey Allison all great drivers with great story lines for history buffs. But for one reason or another these guys just didn't win the Cup as drivers. Should these legends be excluded because they didn't win a championship? NO! But don't force yourself into inducting Robert Pressley, Mike Skinner and Jimmy Hensley either. So what does it take to be inducted into the HOF? Championships must equate into the decision but not be the sole reason for induction. Wins, Poles, Top 5's, Top 10's? Well, as you can tell from above, stats can be boring. And yet controversy, competitiveness and potential should only get you so far. So I ask, why limit it to drivers? NASCAR shouldn't limit itself to drivers. They should restrict the number of drivers and broaden thier search to others who have helped pave the way to where we are today. NASCAR has some of the best promoters, teams, pioneers, owners, venues and fans this world has ever seen. NASCAR is a sport like no other. It should have a HOF like no other. |

Good suggestions, however, more than likely they will have mulitple inductees, perhaps from the Nascar Top 50. They will have to include Dale Earnhardt, Petty and other names as a drawing card. You would have a good 'ol North Carolina uprising if Earnhardt's name was excluded up front! Keep the suggestions flowing fans! |

First, let me say that the HOF inductees should be divided into 5 segments honoring no more than 3 drivers, 1 crew chief, 1 car owner, 1 promoter/track owner and 1 track no longer used in Cup races. Now that that is out of the way. My choices for inductees are: Drivers- Herb Thomas, Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt: Crew Chief- Smokey Yunick: Car Owner- Bud Moore: Promoter- Bill France Sr.: Track- Ormond Beach Second year inductees: Drivers- Lee Petty, David Pearson and Red Byron: Crew Chief- Dale Inman: Car Owner- Holman-Moody: Track Owner- Bruton Smith: Track- North Wilkesboro |

Hey atlanta, enjoy your big fish tank, and cokes plant tour, or what ever it is, did i mention who cares? Now you guys are trying to act like you didnt even care if you had it. Thats why you spent so much money on it, because you really didnt want it, right?? I tell you what, i wouldnt trade you the fish tank, and the coke thing for the HOF!!!! Now we will be the destination, especially when we keep the all star race, and induct the hof honorees in on the same week. What are you guys gonna draw after the fish tank draw wears out? Induct a new fish into the tank??? Yeah atl is much much larger than charlotte, but we are who we are, you guys try to be this "major" city, outside the southeast you are a joke, just like charlotte. You think chicago, ny, la, detroit, philly care anything about atlanta???? we are all a joke down south. boy you really drew a crowd on monday at your race, watch out or we will take your second date in nc somewhere. rockingham could outdraw you guys. |

To bad, you suck as a city for nascar, your last race had half the seats missing people, on a monday race, in charlotte the seats would have been fullll!!! Dale Earnhardt and David Pearson first inductees, then Richard "cheater" Petty |

Atlanta finally lost something to Charlotte. As you can see they don't like that concept. You'd think they'd be happy they don't have to go to Kansas for the induction ceremonies. I know I am. If Daytona loses NASCAR completely it will be a sad day in NASCAR. I know the 500 has been a staple for the series. But so was DARLINGTON and if ticket sells were to drop it could become the next DARLINGTON. Apparently DARLINGTON was too tough for NASCAR to tame as well. Bring back the LABOR DAY race to DARLINGTON. Or at least alternate the date with races between DARLINGTON, ROCKINGHAM, and NORTH WILKESBORO. California got that date and just 2 weeks ago I seen empty seats there. For shame. Well I guess this is where I get to say. See ya'll in CHARLOTTE. Built here. Belongs here. Guess what? It is here. NASCAR Hall of Fame CHARLOTTE,NC That was fun. |

Larry will be back with the weather and sports, right after these messages. Russell, I suppose NASCAR is mistaken with their selection process since 2 of the 3 remaining cities have tracks not owned by ISC. Maybe you should enlighten them. Or... maybe they know something you don't. Speaking of things you don't know, both Kansas and Richmond proposed building the HOF beside their tracks. I wouldn't say it is an advantage for Daytona, since they are no longer with us. But that's just me seeing things differently than you. That's all the news for today folks. Join us again next week. When Larry will be reporting live from his new home in Antarctica. Loved here. Supported here. Taught here. Grew up here. Eats here. Sleeps here. Built here. Belongs here. Charlotte DOES NOT need the Hall Of Fame. Charlotte has NO PARKING, crime rates are astronomical (about 2 murders per week, car theft is terrible, armed robberies are daily occurrences, plus the police are helpless to stop them). Bringing more attractions to down town will only worsen the crime rate. LET ATLANTA HAVE THE HALL! |
