Had a friend with the same problem! NEW plug wires & plugs took care of it! Hope this helps!

I will try the plugs and wires......But why would it affect the 219 box and not the 220 box?

had the same in 1992 ford when i changed altenator

electronic noise is a difficult thing . it is a lot of time frequency selective that could explain why you hear it on the 219 box and not the 220 box
i would still bet on the wires and plugs causing the problem
if it is a whine not a fast popping sound then your problem is more than likely the alternator but if you are hearing a real fast popping noise then try the wires and plugs

Changed plugs/plugs wires/dist cap & rotor.....Seems to have fixed it.....preciate it.....
