FromSoftware even added a rare, violet-tinted item drop nearby to entice Tarnished to explore further the area where Boc is hiding. However, it's up to the players to decide if what they'll need to do to roll into Boc's bush disguise to unveil his identity.

Now, you're probably asking yourself if Boc's storyline is worth all this trouble. The answer to that question will depend on what you're hoping to get from Elden Ring. Regarding rewards, I'd say not, because everything Boc can provide for you (i.e. altering clothing) is already done yourself by going to The Sites of Grace checkpoints after gathering the necessary items.
