Has anyone used Swarovski AX Visio? Is it worth the money?
Guys, I'm thinking about buying Swarovski AX Visio 10x32, but the price is, to put it mildly, biting. Judging by the description, these are not just binoculars, but a real digital station: it recognizes birds and animals, takes photos and videos, even shows the direction. Sounds cool, but is it really so in practice?
I love watching nature, especially birds. I used regular binoculars before, but the idea of a "smart" device is very appealing. I wonder how accurately the recognition function works, are there any delays? How convenient is interface?
I would be grateful for feedback from real users! Or maybe there are worthy analogues that are cheaper?
Re: Has anyone used Swarovski AX Visio? Is it worth the money?
I've been using AX Visio for couple of months now, so I can share my experience. Firstly, the optics are simply gorgeous. Thanks to SWAROVISION, the image is clear, colors are natural, the detail is excellent. Even without the "smart" features, these binoculars are already top-notch. Secondly, the recognition works accurately, but with reservations. It identifies popular species (birds, large mammals) without problems, but it may not recognize rare or exotic ones. Sometimes there are errors, but app updates fix them. The "Share discoveries" function is really convenient. You can "mark" an animal, pass the binoculars to a friend, and he will immediately see where to look - very helpful in the field. If high-quality optics and modern technology are important to you, then AX Visio is an excellent choice. But if you just need a good picture without digital features, you can take a classic Swarovski or Zeiss cheaper. Here is a good choice www.widescreen-centre.co.uk/astronomical-binoculars.html. Choose what is more important to you - technology or price.

I also tested AX Visio, and I liked that it can be connected to a smartphone via SWAROVSKI OPTIK Outdoor App. There you can store photos, videos, update software and even get tips on settings. Very convenient! About the compass and tilt angle - this is a really useful thing if you are walking in an unfamiliar area. It is especially helpful in the mountains or forests, when you need to navigate.
