A border collie and a rough collie

As a child my father read stories of Lad to me and we cried together over his death. I wanted a collie desperately and finally have 2-both rescues. The Border Collie and I trained together to do search and rescue. My rough Collie, I hope will be a therapy dog....but he is loved no matter what he does. At 66 I have loved and lost many dogs and they remain precious souls to my heart. Sunnybank has been a place of my dreams.

I miss my Collie and reading some of the other comments here I feel like a young boy who just lost his best friend. The Collie will always be in my heart as my favorite variety of dog. Such a loving companion and family member. My Kids loved Dazie as much as I did. Thank you for the web site.

my first dog was a collie Laddy, and i miss collies. so i rescued Ginny at 7 and now 13 and she is a survivor and still luvs her walks and my tri color is 8 now, got Minnie as a pup and is now a therapy dog.

I grew up on the Terhune books in a home quite similar to The Place. The world has changed so much since then. I reread his books often and am always filled with joy at the thought that there was once a place of love, beauty and Dogs! My beloved collie passed and a lovely irish setter pup wandered into our lives. His name is Lad. His beauty, intelligence and glorious character, I think, would have made Mr. Terhune smile with dog loving joy!
