We had a lovely stay in this house. It was warm and comfortable and the tea/ coffee etc was really welcome on arrival. It's in a great position by the estuary and is also very quiet but close enough to all the amenities of Whitby.

Awd Tuts is a lovely little cottage in the perfect location. All amenities were available to us. The only down side is the size of the living room and ajoining kitchen which I found to be rather small for 5. However as we did not spend much time in the cottage this did not pose any real diffculties. The bedrooms and bathrooms made up for this. The addition of the laundry room was a bonus. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Awd Tut's cottage and would stay again.

Lovely Cottage, clean, tidy, well equipped & homely. The location was stunning. The additional touches - tea/coffee/milk on arrival & games/dvd's for rainy days were welcome as was the courtesy call from Mike checking all was well.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Awd Tuts. We loved this cottage and would love to go back. The location is perfect and really blew us away, it truly is in the heart of the old town, just 20 steps up the alley to the shopping street packed with lovely shops and cafes and down the alley to a small beach. The kids (5 and 7) were amazed to be that close to the beach and also played in the small private yard. A perfect base from which to explore Whitby and we didn't feel the need to go elsewhere or move our car for the duration of our stay.
The cottage itself was lovely and cosy with very comfy beds.

Have stayed at both cottages last 2 years

These cottages are really nice. I like Awd Tuts and my wife likes Riverside although both are very good. One is in the centre of Whitby and the other is a 15 minute walk away but set overlooking a large stretch of the River Esk.
Can recommend both places to stay.

Comfortable, excellent location with very good family provision.

Needed some matches during the power cut, otherwise great! Will recommend to other visitors to Whitby.

Will come again. Big cottage, big rooms, really nice location, free parking, free wi fi, flat screen TV, constantly changing view as the tide goes in and out, ducks to feed on the doorstep and very comfortable beds, much better than renting just a hotel room. 10 out of 10 for us.

Nice large cottage with ample room for all (6) of us. Two bathrooms and 3 toilets gave us all that extra sort of privacy. The cottage was warm and clean with tea, coffee , milk etc when we arrived which was appreciated after 6 hours travelling. The unexpected FreeSat TV gave us plenty of viewing ability especially for the kids. I would recommend this cottage.

Smashing cottage in the centre of Whitby. Clean and tidy although Mike the owner says it has a facelift coming up soon so it should be better still. Pubs, restaurants, shops and even a small beach just a stones throw away. Would highly recommend. Don and family

Upon arrival the cottage was lovely and clean. Tea and coffee provided which was a nice thought and very welcome too.

We loved the layout of the place and soon got settled in, as the cottage felt really homely and welcoming. Lots of information available about all the appliances, good places to eat, the local area etc.Very well equipped place with everything you could need. The location was amazing, so peaceful and calming. The ducks came from the river everyday quacking at the french doors for some food which was funny and added to the nice character of the place. Rooms were all nice and big, lovely modern decor. We are aged 25 and 26 and wanted a relaxing anniversary weekend away and this certainly ticked all the boxes, we were able to relax in peace and just take some time away together away from the normal routine. The bed was comfy so we had a good nights sleep too. Car parking space available which was helpful. Great views of the viaduct from the cottage. Good distance from Whitby also, although we chose to drive this distance as opposed to walking over the viaduct which seems a popular choice. All in all a great weekend away washad by us both. Thank you \"\" \"\" \"\"

Enjoyed every minute of this cottage stay. It's a stones throw from the river and because the river is tidal the scene changes hourly. Good beds gave us all very good nights sleep. I wish more people and cottages would follow this example.
We travelled from Australia so will not be back again but would recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

Loved the place. We went for a girls getaway from the men, few days away and this cottage was perfect for our little break. Its right in the centre of the old town and once the car is parked up you\'re in the middle of everything.

There was milk , coffee and tea in the kitchen ready for us which is nice on first arrival.

One thing that made us all pick this cottage is that smoking and pets are not allowed. We were not disappointed, the cottage was fresh, clean and has the most amazing comfortable beds. We ate well, slept well and will definately come back again. \"\" \"\" \"\"

We decided to have a nice girly break myself and five friends. We didnt want anywhere noisy and riverside cottage was perfect. Well equipped, clean and we are already thinking about going back in a couple of months. Coffee and tea provided, nice touch when we got in.

Fed the ducks at the door to the cottage and saw a few rabbits skipping around.Cottage was nice and warm and it was just what 5 busy ladies needed to relax.

Had a nice walk into Whitby over the viaduct and had to have fish and chips (of course) ..You wont be disappointed

Lovely location. Ideal for a short break, with children wanting to be increasingly independent, shops and beach close by .
The cottage was immaculate, warm, with lovely comfy beds.
Extremely good value and extremely curteous and responsive service from Mike
Many thanks a great break

We jumped at the chance of a recent offer whereby we got extra nights for nothing. I love anything for nothing. It was very good value even if we hadn't got the extra nights. Smashing location. Warm and extremely comfortable beds. Mike, the owner, does cheap deals apparently all through the winter months so try and get a deal of him. We will come here again. PG.

Clean & comfortable in a fabulous peaceful location. Steam trains, seals & ducks add to the idyllic experience. The town centre of Whitby a most pleasant stroll over the awesome viaduct above, PS The best & nearest Fish & Chippie takeaway is at the end of Larpool Lane, over the main road into Spital Bridge - Riverside Fisheries Highly Recommended.

We all thought the cottage was wonderful - quaint, atmospheric, yet clean and very comfortable. It's position is excellent although the stairs and incline might deter the elderly/disabled.. didn't deter us though - we had a ball! Can't praise it highly enough! Many thanks to Mike & Louise.x
