I am interested in the history of the pub that my husband and I are running. I think it would be nice to incorporate the history in what we are trying to do with the pub. |

My wife, Felicity, is a descendant of Frederick Cassidy, Rev. William's brother. The traditional vocations of church or medicine continue with Felicity about to be ordained as a Transitional Deacon, to be priested next year. Her Father retired a few ago after a being a GP ( general family doctor). Would be pleased to contact anyone interested in the family or its earlier de Vateau lines which go back to 14th century Burgundy. Seeking more info about Frederick who settled with his wife and 2 children in NZ. He was never priested here and appears to have had no occupation - some sort of remittance man? |

Can I say a big thank you to Mark Smith for all his help. You have all worked very hard at making the information accessible to all and ensuring these memories are not lost and forgotten. I am really looking forward to teaching my class about World War 2, but particularly sharing all the memories and real life experiences of people living in Thorpe Thewles and bringing this topic alive for the children. Thank you again for all you have done and im sure the class would love to saher some of their work with you when it is completed. |

If think a lot of people are putting much effort into this site and for people like me it is very interesting and I'm sure for people further afield it is helpful to get to 'know' the area if they have a link. Keep up the good work. |

I would not know were to start as I was only a visitor to my aunts and uncle at the old Woodside farm at the age of 3 with vague memories and later years help to demolish the 3 + 20 Arches ? |

I have just finished watching the video "snapshot of Thorpe Thewles"An amazing piece of work covering history, farming, the war, transport and so much more. I have always had an interest in Thorpe and the villages around it. Coming from Hardwick we used to bike and walk around Carlton and play in the beck at Thorpe. Later we used to walk over the arches looking for rabbits and enjoying nature in particular. Thank you so much for such joy this afternoon. jeff cooke |
