thanks for the reply john,the salmon do tend to group up in august for sept. run it does depend on the weather. rain is the most important factor. what do you guys use to catch them any tips would be helpful. by the way i will be trying it out in providence bay next week.
Spoons mostly, but surprisingly in the evening we use a perch color rapala, jointed or straight and we kill them, about an hour or so during twilight. This is the last week in September.
let me know how you do at Providence. Had some luck there a few years ago in the river. Water was to rough to cast in the surf. Do you know how the rain has been. I know we are dry down here in Ohio. We try every year up in the Blue Jay Creek, its a tough walk but we have had some very large fish but have not landed any of them.
Heading up this week, leaving tomorrow will catch the ferry first crossing, should be in Micheals Bay by 2 pm. Will probably fish till night 10:00, we will be there till Sunday catching the first ferry off the isliand. If you are up there and looking there will be four of us in a blue ford pick up.
