Just surprised two Flickers in the back yard. I'm also hearing what I thing are Cedar Waxwings but isn't it too early yet for those?

We had an interesting experience a little earlier this year. A neighbour identified a regular visitor at my birdfeeder as a brown thrasher which is apparently a bit of a winter phenomenon. He notified the bird society who came to view it a few days later. The bird came for months but has not been back now since the last week of February. Otherwise we have had nothing but the regulars....on another bird note, I have seen sandhill cranes in several locations now. It really must be Spring!
