My time at St Columba's, Danby Hall and the Prory was all too short but the message of Uganda was a constant one which has stayed with me through the years. Fortunately,in my later years, I have been able to visit the country several times. Last week, accompanied by my wife, we were guests at the double wedding of two of her nieces. Two alcohol-free days of lengthy speeches with no singing or dancing certainly showed the difference between wedding cultures here and back home in Scotland!
Next week sees me back at work as a teacher in HM Prison Service, just a wee bit different from this rural Ugandan idyll where most of any noise comes from the local, five-feet tall, Marabou Storks!
