SCDNR has informed us that a field trail in an enclosure that is national affiliated does not require hunting licenses for hunters. Assuming that this is true, can we get the money hunt at Tally-Ho national affiliated and if so, how do you get national affiliation? SCDNR also said that if it was not considered a field trial and just a "hunt", then all hunters must have valid SC licenses. Any helpful information will be appreciated.
Buck, call the CHASE @ 859-254-4262, and talk to Joann Stone. She can give you all the info & get you set up with an affiliation! If Joann isn't there ask for Sharon!
Hope this helps, and good luck!
"field trials" is the term to use, that is addressed in the rule and regs brochure you can get anywhere , i believe the permit is $5. tally ho wolf hunters assoc or something to that affect
Buck you need to change your terminology when speaking with SCDNR. So technically SCDNR is descrimating against the Masters FHA. You are technically having a field trial but you called it a money "hunt". That's where your problem is. It doens't have to Nationally Affiliated to be a feild trial.
SCDNR doesnt descriminate against the masters they issue field trial permits for masters affiliated hunts just like they do for national affiliated hunts.
In Virginia you would need to have a field trial permit from the Va. Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries in order to bypass the hunting license requirement. Not sure what your state requires but you might want to go online and check the game commission regulations for that state.
