I think you can count on the various associations to do their part, but no hound owner (whether you run inside or outside the wire) that cares about this sport should rely on the associations to do all the work. Every hound owner should do what Brent Davis did - contact your elected representatives in the NC House and Senate and let them know what you think. Associations don't vote, individuals do! And that's what's important to politicians.

Contacting a representative is not difficult and can be very effective. Most feel an obligation to at least hear out the concerns of potential "VOTES".
Be courteous and concise. Voice your opinion and concern.
Some people think that their vote doesn't mean anything. I've thought this at times myself.
If we all call and voice concern when matters arise such as this, our voice will be heard and our VOTING POWER will have some substantial leverage.

Time to have a multie pen speed and drive shootout with a championship round at one of the pens, like a circuit for save the pens. If all the pen owners got together they could probably afford a couple of lobbyiest with the money from that. Just an idea. I will email my elected officials.
