Samson Law - There may be legislation introduced during the next G.A. session to enact a "Samson" Law.
This would ask for enhanced penalties for those who illegal poach trophy class game animals. Other states have this type of law. This law was first enacted in Colorado after a poacher killed a famous trophy elk in a park.

Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact - There may be legislation to join this compact. We are only one of 11 states that are not members. This compact creates a system to track violators through out the country. If your hunting, fishing or trapping privileges are revoked in one compact state they will be revoked in all members states of the compact. This provides an added deterent to would be poachers. Many times we revoke poachers in VA and they just go and hunt in another state or we get revoked hunters from other states. This type of law would take the "bad" apples out of our sport by preventing them from just hunting in another state.
I would urge all sportsmen to support these type of laws. If they do make it to the G.A I will advise.

Rich...That is probably a good idea! Would put some teeth into a law and eliminate some "bad apples" at the same time!!
