We will be having the hunt at Caskey's Training Preserve Lancaster SC. The Angel Tree Program is directed by Lancaster Christian Services. The program provides gifts for underpriviledge children. My wife and I have supported this group for about 15 yrs and with the help of many others wish to step up our efforts.
The hunt will consist of 2 dog "Teams". Each team will be made up of one derby and one all age hound. The "Team" with the highest combined score will be declared the winner. Any combination will be allowed, meaning you can pair your hound with any other hound in the hunt or with as many hounds as you like so long as they are in opposite classes (1 derby with 1 all age). The first entry fee will $30 per hound or $60 per team. After the hound has been paired once if you chose to pair with another hound which has been entered it will $20 per hound or $40 per team.
The payback will increase with the number of teams. Going with 50 teams entered we will pay $1000.00 to high scoring pair and $100 each to high All Age and Derby. After 50 pairs we will split the entry fee between the pot and Angel Tree Program.
The hunt will be run 4 hrs keeping all speed and drive scores. Hunting scores will be given at a value of 25 pts. These scores will be added to the speed and drive to get the total score. We will have plenty of judges and will be using the 2 judge scratch rule for all scratches.
This is going to be fun hunt for a great cause and if the hunters turnout it could be a heck of a payout. We are working on getting some dog food companies to come on board and help us give dogfood to 2nd thru 10th. Thats the meat of the thing here are a few things to maybe clarify the pairing rules. Example my hound #715 Chip's Speedy Gonzalez is paired with #88 Chip's Super Trac. Anyone one there with a derby dog can pay the fee and enter their derby hound with my #715. If the pair wins I would recieve half the winnings minus the entry fee and the hunter making the team would recieve the other half. The only rule is you must own or have entered one of the pair in your name. 1 all age hound can be paired with 50 diffrent derbies if thats what you want. The more pairs the more money for the winner and the Angel Tree Program. Any questions feel free to call. It will probobaly be a combined score in the 1400-1800 pts range to win. Now what makes you think we would want to pair our derby hounds with an old, broke down, slow, no hunting dog like Speedy Gonzales?

Since I hear you are trying to give Gonzo away,I will ride up this afternoon and pick him up.Don't know if I can make the hunt or not but I will call you to help out.May try to send some young dogs up with somebody.

Hilton I got $100 that says you can't outrun that wore out cripple no hunting dog. Call and get some numbers this should be fun it's surely diffrent.

Hey Coot come on down Nov 22nd. The pen is about 15 mins from my house. We promise lots of running great food and good feeling you helped someone in need when you leave. Gather a crowd from up your way dont care if you bring a load thats the beauty each man only has to bring one hound then he can pair with any other hound there if he choses or two of his/her own.

OK folks, I have heard the numbers are not going out to fast. Let's look at it this way, for every hound entered in the hunt a child will have a big smile on his/her face filled with joy and you could be the one that made it happen. A hunt like this should be one of the most important hunts you could ever attend and by all means it is for a great cause. Chip Wolfe is a good friend of mine and even though he is a "SKINNY LITTLE FELLOW" HA HA he has a big heart and he is working really hard to make this a very successful hunt.

I challenge each and everyone "no money or side bets" just put aside your wants for one day and come be apart of something great!

You do not have to have both hounds to come, you can pair your hound with another hound entered, and remember you only need to enter one hound to put a smile on a childs face.
