I run in some pens with nothing but reds and other times I run in pens with mixed game, reds,yotes, greys. I have noticed that yotes let hounds run off of sight more than reds or greys. I have run yotes with people that blister my butt because there hounds will run a yote on sight and not by scent but then go to a pen with nothing but reds and there hound can't get a crossing because he can't run it on scent like a true hound should. There is nothing wrong with running a yote if he will run like he's supposed to but so many yotes get settled in a pen after being there awhile and they toy with the hounds. A old me told me once if he is a true fox hound he will run his game down the middle of the main drag in town in the middle of rush hour traffic.
