Re: glad to see the yotes gone

OK here we are again, The same debate about coyote and what the difference is, If some of you would do more than turn loose in a yote filled pen and go home you would find out thee difference,
A yote pen has yotes every, where they will move at anytime of the day, they stink almost as bad as a skunk, in reality they smell like a dead animal,,, yotes dont get way out in front of the hounds they will only stay a few steps ahead and make some turns here and there to keep the hounds behind a little, It takes a fast hound that dosent need a nose or hunting ability to run a yote, Now thee better hounds are the ones that are bred fox smart and can run a grey heads up heads down either way,and then run a yote to catch, the hound in the front bred for fox with the speed will out do a heads up no nose hounds,, Yotes can only run in short spurts of speed at around 35 mph,( do your homework Research them) unless they have been ran and have built thereself up and gotten in shape. catching a in shape yote in a pen is a big task but can be done with the right hounds, I dont mean the ones standing in the road waiting for them to cross, If a hound cant run it down by track it should be culled,
Foxes are running hard though smaller they are in thickets briars and make many turns unlike a yote, and do not put off as strong of a smell as yotes until there getting there pants run off,
You take a in shape yote and the will stay 25 50 yards in front of the hounds and burst speed to get away. unless you have hounds that can track them up and then pull up there heads and push the yote to max speed and keep him there, They want last long, The best yote race I had was outside took 2 /12 hours to catch him and he crossed 14 roads back and fourth also crossed severral logging decks and someone was there at every crossing, only got one shot off because the hounds were to close to take a chance,The hounds never got more than 25 feet behind him,.yotes are very similar in running to a grown buck deer, and fox are like young deer and or does, typically not leaving a area to far from home,.
the reason for the yotes is that there so plentyful and will run during the day with hounds putting pressure on them, And make some hunters heads bigger than a 55 gallon drum cause they scored 800 points in a trial, Whats the dif, In 800 point on a yote that crosses road after road allowing judges to score speed than a hound that scores 300 on a fox that stays in a thicket and only crosses once in a while ,once jumped on the outside that is the race your going to have until its caught or you pull the hounds off atleast that has been by experence, the hounds that are ruined are the ones that never have to hunt becasue of yotes, they dont need a nose as they stink to high heaven and never get that far ahead, The pen is what ruins the hounds as well with to many roads for hounds to cut out and swing I have seen alot say there hound gets behind he better hit the road anf get back to the front I disagree and will cull a hound even if it is winning speed and drive as I feel a hound should be able to pull up in the woods, As far as I am concerned that is my opinion the way I feel and if you dont like it to bad, I buy my dog feed not anyone else, Anytime someone wants to run lets go, in a pen better bring lights for watching hounds as I stay with them for the majority of the time until its time for steak and potatoe and salad fork, ,MARC

I can back my comments up with by hunters who have ran with me in the past
