ALVIN BARROW MEMORIAL FIELD TRIAL 5/14/2022

Today a special memorial foxhunt was held at Twin County Fox Preserve, in Williamston NC, honoring our friend, the late Alvin Earl Barrow. As folks arrived the parking area became full of trucks, bumper to bumper, with foxhunters from throughout eastern NC who came to show appreciation for all the hard work Alvin had done to promote outside foxhunting and outside field trials. Family members and friends shared many stories about Alvin with heart felt emotions and a little laughter too. The Barefoot family gave recognition in memory of Alvin and his efforts with the Outside Foxhunters Association and also shared a "thank you" letter from St. Jude Children Research Hospital for a most generous donation from the association. Everyone that knew Alvin knew he had a big heart.
After an AMAZING GRACE blessing by Mr. George Pierce, everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ pig picking with all the trimmings. Many said that Alvin was smiling upon the hunt as hounds came roaring near the camp crying with every breath and turning with Mr. Grey fox, telling the world we show nuff foxhounds. When the dust settled, a fine young hound, Ryno's Whitney, owned by Ryan Gregory, of Greene County NC took top honors, scoring 550 points during the 3hour field trial.

Many thanks to Carl Bryant (Rubadub), Danny Joe Wootten, Rusty Murphy for putting the hunt together and donating proceeds to Alvin's niece college fund. Thanks to Alvin's family: Holly, Shelby, Elliott, Sara and many more in attendance.

Thanks to all the hardworking judges 8,315 points turned in; special thanks to the cooks and the pen owner, Chris Barber, for having the fox pen in top notch shape with beautiful grey and red fox.
