As of right now you will have to stop communication between the Alpha and the Drive Track. That can be accomplished by either rebooting the alpha or drive track. I'll probably go with rebooting the drive track just to be safe. As mentioned before I'm sure there will be a software update that will fix this oversight. I'd suggest giving Garmin a call and letting them know that this is an issue that needs to be fixed though. I spoke to them about it this afternoon. They seemed aware of it but didn't have a timeline on when an update would be available to fix it.
Other than those problems how is the drive track performing overall? I haven't heard a lot about it, that could be a good thing. I am looking forward to getting one, but was hoping to hear more about it. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time guys.
Haven't used it much except as a true GPS (in which case it's very good). Don't really need it in the pens I'm running now. I'll have a better idea how good it really is come October in some of the more wide open spaces. I'm expecting it to be nice to be able to see more area on a bigger screen. I'm a little concerned about the tracks cluttering the screen, but it seems that it's easy enough to "reboot" and get rid of them. As mentioned before I expect Garmin to have an update for that because I can see it as a major complaint but one of the few they'll have.
