I've used it as a dip for my hounds and it works pretty good on fleas and ticks. I mix it the way the instructions says as I was concerned that it may affect my hounds badly if I didn't. I actually believe that it works better as a dip than it does as a spray.
I have used the Tiger Brand Pest Control that contains Permethrin to spray pens (from Agri Supply). I sprayed hounds while I was spraying pen. Spray worked great on kennels, did not notice any ticks on hounds afterwards... but I do not typically keep a sprayer full all the time. I use the Tiger 10 Garden and Pet Dust (also from Agri Supply) on a regular basis on my hounds. I use it on my running dogs when I let them out, and on puppies when they play in the yard. I sprinkle a hand full on their neck and across their back. Usually I shake it into their coat a bit, most of them will shake themselves once I put it on. It's dry, quick, and clean. A 25 lb. bag last a good while also. Good luck.
