    Re: Ticks

For several years I have used purple cow tags. I cut them in half and use a plastic tie to attach one to the dogs collar. When it's on the dog it must be touching the dogs hair. I usually have to put the tags on the dogs twice a year and after a couple of days I don't normally see any ticks on them. When I see a tick is when I replace the old tag with another tag. I have also tried other color cow tags and found that they do not work nearly as well as the purple ones. Most feed and grain stores will have some.

The cow tags are Python purple tags. They work really good.

    Re: Ticks

Saber ear tags for cattle. 20 per box. Most farm supply stores carry it. wrap 1 around collar zip tie it. Ticks gone after 2-3 days. I put them on in late april then sometime middle of july replace them That will last to end summer. This will take care of your tick problem. Been using them for many years.

Go to Tractor Supply and buy some Freedom 45. Its $23.00....Its about 6 tubes with 9cc in each one. Put about 3cc or less on your hound. One tube is for a 1200lbs horse. It goes between the shoulder blades and down the back...Box has instruction on it. Works great... Tics will dry up and fall right off the next day.
