640 crosses to senate...ALL NC PEOPLE SHOULD READ THIS !!!!

There is a lot of Crap in this bill....READ BELOW CAREFULLY.....And do we need a New Bunch Of Appointee's on a new commission......What if the Enforcement Folks do not like you because you speak you mind for example and write you enough tickets to loss your license or they Meet with your hunting clubs officers all the time till they talk them into voting you out of your club.

I think they threw Sunday Hunting in to get it passed myself...

NEWS ALERT: House Bill #640 passed last night in the NC House of Representatives. Click here for detailed information about the vote.

This bill now goes to the Senate for consideration. As you know, no bill becomes law until both the House and the Senate approve it. This fight is far from being over!

Before we start the fight in the Senate, please take time to thank the Representatives who fought hard for us. Rep. Bob Steinburg (District #1 – Republican; office 919-733-0010) and Rep. William Brisson (District #22 – Democrat; office 919-733-5772) argued repeatedly against the convoluted process and the contents of HB#640.

House Bill #640 contains provisions for Sunday gun hunting, increased penalties against hunters, including “Three Strikes” Rule for hunting on posted property, and suspension of hunting privileges for “negligent hunters”. To read the actual language of the bill as it was sent to the Senate, click here.

Please note the following new language in Section 4.(b): The Wildlife Resources Commission shall review the provisions of Article 21B of Chapter 113 of the General Statutes that provide for the suspension of hunting privileges upon conviction of criminally negligent hunting and determine whether those provisions should be amended or expanded to provide increased protection to the public from negligent or reckless hunting. In developing its findings, the Wildlife Resources Commission shall consult with organized hunting clubs and propose recommendations to address individuals who repeatedly violate club rules and regulations. The Wildlife Resources Commission shall also consult with public interest groups in developing its findings. The Wildlife Resources Commission shall report its findings and recommendations to the 2015 General Assembly when it reconvenes in 2016.

There is a lot more than “Sunday hunting” in this bill, and none of it helps dog hunters! This bill gives more power to the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to make life difficult for hunters. Please read this bill and contact your personal Senator. Ask your Senator to stop this bill! Click here to identify your Senator. Ask your Senator to opposing House Bill #640.

If you have questions regarding this bill, please first read the bill text, and then call us. Do not take for granted you know what is in the bill, as more language was added at the last moment by Rep. Jimmy Dixon, the primary sponsor of this bill.

Thank you in advance for contacting Rep. Bob Steinburg and Rep. William Brisson. They deserve our thanks. We appreciate you helping us to work to protect hunting and hunting with dogs in North Carolina!

Thank you! Best regards, Henri and Joe McClees
