That's right... North Carolina summertime foxhunting as we know it will be banned if North Carolina House Bill 640 is made into law. This bill is known by its short title as the "Outdoor Heritage Act". While it does have a few good attributes to it, the majority of this bill is unnecessary garbage.
The following verbiage was taken DIRECTLY from NC House Bill 640 on the North Carolina Legislature's website:
"Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Wildlife Resources Commission may restrict or prohibit the use of dogs in hunting foxes during the breeding and raising seasons for game during the period April 1 through August 1."
It doesn't matter if you agree with the dates of April 1st through August 1st or not. I don't think any of you folks need the North Carolina General Assembly to tell you when your young foxes are old enough to run... Do you????
