I have 4 beagle pups that are 3 1/2 months old, these pups have had all their shots been wormed regularly and are healthy and playful, about a week ago i noticed the runt started coughing a little bit a couple of days ago it was a little bit worse.. this started right after i put cedar shavings in house, none of the other pups were coughing, pup is still playful and eating regularly. I began giving her childrens cough syrup a teaspoon a day this is day 4 the cough is still there. And have also noticed this dog drinking more water than others. Yesyerday a different pup started coughing. I dont know if this is kennel cough or something to do with shavings, and how to fix this issue as the pups are only 3 1/2 months old. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

First I would change the shavings to pine. Second give each one a 1 cc of tylan 50 in the mouth for three days straight an see if it gets better if not give it 5 days straight. Hope that helps has for me.

Thanks for the info billy, im guessing this is an antibiotic, i already swotched shavings.. and that amount will be ok for a pup that small?

Start with a 1/2 cc for three days an see what happens, they might just be allergic to the cedar shavings. I 've had dogs break out in a rash an have all kinds of problems from cedar. Give me a call if you need any more help I have beagles to. 434-774-4544
