Need help with Garmin GPS antenna

I need to know how far apart I need to keep my marine radio antenna from my Garmin antenna? I was told to stay at least 5 foot so that marine radio does not burn up my handhand. Is 5 foot enough or should it be greater. Let me know what set up has worked for you. Thanks

Garmin suggest 10ft but I have mine about 6ft and run my marine on low power and not an issuer yet

I read an article the other day about it I saw on Facebook and said that channels 68, 69, 70, and 71 were the ones that were causing the most problems cause those frequencies are so close to the garmin frequency!
