I'm trying to learn so bear with me. What does it mean when someone mentions LE#? Does a dog have to be tattooed to be registered? And does the registry SFSB/IFSB assign the numbers? Thanks!
Le stands for litter enrollment that is just saying that you can track that dog's bloodline . His or hers number will match up with sire and dame to get generations of the bloodline on both sides.hope it helps.
The breeder fills out a breeder's certificate. It is signed by the owner of the sire at the time the gyp is bred and signed by the owner or lessee of the dam after pups are whelped. Number of females and males, whelping date, dam's registation number, sire's registration number, color of pups, breed, etc.
The breeder sends in the breeder's certificate to be issued a litter enrollment. The LE # will have all of the above information. If you have a LE# for a hound, you can send in what you want the hound to registered as with your LE number and a registration number with pedigree will be issued, with you as the owner.
No, you don't have to register your hound, if you get a good one and have papers, you will have a pedigree to go by, to look for a common denominator. Twenty dollars is the cost for registration.
