Can someone please tell me what is the ideal size SD card for the ALPHA? I have found that the ALPHA is slower than my ASTRO. I have been told to not use a card larger than 4 GB, but I have heard of people using 32 GB. I would like to have the ALPHA perform at its peak speed. If I can use a 32 GB and have the ALPHA perform as fast as if it had a 4 GB then that's what I would like. I know the preferable class for the card is 10. THANK YOU, Rodney Jacobs
I run a 16gb card in mine with no problem. The main thing is to get a high quality SD card, not all are the same. You need a high speed card. Cheap cards do not perform as good.
thanks, I am going to try a little smaller card. It just seems like when I am on the map screen and zoom the magnification it takes a few seconds for the dogs to show back up on the screen.
I have a few questions about the Alpha. What does the sd card do in this unit? I know on 320 it has the map on it.
The wife and I each got Alpha at the same time and haven't added anything to them but on the map mine has the TOPO lines and hers doesn't can someone help us out on that Thanks, Wade
On the alpha the topo map is on it from the factory. If hers is not showing up go to maps and make sure it is on. The SD cards are used to add additional features like birds eye or other maps because the internal memory is limited and the more you put on the Internal memory the slower unit will run.
