Ive had several pair of Rocky snake boots. The first pair was waterproof for years but I bought them a little snug thinking they would stretch, they don't they shrink!!!! The next pair soaked water up like a sponge. I ordered on Internet, lost receipt, couldn't return. Bought third pair from local dealer, leaked third time I wore them, exchanged them for pair I'm wearing now, they were water proof for about one bow season, have to treat with waterproofing regularly, feet still get damp. I called rocky about the second pair, I told them the boots say waterproof on one side and snake proof on the other, they are not waterproof so I have no illusion they are snake proof. I will say though I kept trying because they are the most comfortable hunting boot I have ever wore.
heres a link you might find usefull, all sorts of brands to look at and compare. http://www.snakeboots.com/
i personaly have a pair of irish setters, real light and comfortable and water proof but ANY boot being waterproof will need re-treated from time to time thats why i like irish setters, beings they are owned by redwing if you have a local redwing shoe store (which i do) they will re-treat,re-lace,and clean them for free just about as much as you wanna take them back in to the store.with that said i take mine back once a year and aint had a lick of trouble out of mine.
