Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

wrong, if not mistaken the chase recently changed that all hunts have to be open. the chase also allowed organizations to limit hounds. This pen owner hasn't just started hunting, and I feel certain that this hunt is more of a protest to the new rule. I think this hunt is meant to magnify what many consider a terrible new rule.. I am not speaking for anyone just voicing my opinion. Hunters should be careful not to be so eager to bash someone without all facts or knowing ones intentions..

P.S running has been outstanding every time I have been there

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

Not bashing just wandering on make a Ch on hunt not open to all. Far as I know good running pen.

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

Since rule change as long as the hunt was advertised and has 50 hounds it will be able to make a champion. You can limit your hounds . By the old national rule you could not limit your hounds in this case Virginia could have 420 hounds and have to cut it off not make a champion.

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

But doesn't hunt has to be open to all hunters until max# is reached? Just wandering?

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

The way I understand the rule is pen owner can say how many hounds he will allow

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

I thought that rule applied to Va. only?? guess not

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

    what are the results

Re: walnut creek 3 day ?

Highball said the article and pictures and results would be in the Chase Magazine hopefully in a couple of months. He said he did not advertise the hunt on the internet, only in the Chase Magazine, so that is where the results will be seen.

If you do not get the Chase Magazine, call them at 859-254-4262 and subscribe to it. I think you can get one year for $40 and two years for $75.

Also, all the one day hunts held at Highball's are put in the Chase Magazine with pictures of top five HGA in derby and all-age, making them count for the Chase Test of the Best.
