Hi everyone. I received a dog from a man in Elizabethtown NC. I love the dog. Not a trial dog yet perfect for my farm. He had a wormer starting with P, 2 words. I do not want to mention the stuff since people get touchy here and i am reading about some form of radicals on here. I am not a radial and do not like people telling me anything about my dogs same as you do not want me telling you. I really would like to know where to get this it did real well with the pup I got from the young man.He added Ivomec 10 cc to the total amount in bottle. I mix my Ivomec with P G. I would like however to get a hold of what he had. I live near Robersonville NC and need to know the name of Co. and who distributes and size of bottle. It looked as a 8oz bottle. I want to make sure i mix the right amount and need advise on cc per lb per dog. I truly care about my dogs and have 4 now but vet is high.Also looking for Showtime Dogfood near Robersonville or Greenville NC. Please write to my email privately if you have advise. I do not want to stir up anything. P.s. The Young man has Foxhounds and does speedtrials Has nice dogs and super clean Kennels. Great young man.
It is "pyrantel-pamoate" ! There are several products which contain it.
Another product is "fenbendazole", also a good wormer product.
And then there is "praziquantel", another wormer product.
There are pills made by Bayer.... called "Drontal +" ! This is the best wormer product made and effectively kills all worms, except heartworms. A bit expensive and you get it from your Vet. If you use this, you will only need to worm once or twice a year.
Ivermectin is a heartworm preventative, & you can give as a liquid, or in pill form, called Heart Guard, or a couple other products on the market. If you use the liquid, no more than 1/4 cc is needed on a monthly basis. I give mine with a syringe & needle under the skin, called "sub q". Others will give orally by mixing with Gatorade.
There are folks on here with a lot more knowledge than me, & I'm sure they will be glad to help and answer questions.
Could also be Panicure Liquid thats my favorite wormer. Best two in my opinion like Allan said is drontal and panicure liquid. If you want to save money get you a tube of equimax which has ivermectin in it. Sa***uard liquid is pretty good to.Hope this helps good luck!
Thank you all. I will have to do more research or break down and call elizabethtown. I have been giving Ivomec for swine and cattle. I give it orally and have had no side effects due to formulating 9 to 1. This meaning 1 cc ivomec 9 cc of Propylene glycol.Cheap and effective. I administer 0.2 cc per 50lbs. I have a complete breakdown for poundage and do not have to worry about Overdosing.If anyone is interested i can place the amount of cc on here if it is alright, per lbs of dog. The solution I keep in fridge at all times. My regular wormer was sa***uard goatwormer but found since my dogs are allowed to roam the farm they end up once a year with a tapeworm not covered by Sa***uard.Due to rabbits waste.Found a wormer at Tractor supply which carries 3 dewormers including the prazyquantel or pyrantel have to look and is in tablet form. It worked well. D-Wormer is the name. They have 2 types so it must include the 3rd dewormer. Has 2 tablets in package. It carries all one needs however it was 17.99 per my big dog, over 50lbs.I will look up Panacur solution not paste and see whether this is the one where i just add the Ivomec at 10 cc to the whole bottle. I like to simplyfi. I had used Equimax and found one of my dogs was in distress. No more equimax for me.It truly depends on dog and the ivermectin is at 1.4 something which added an additionel 0.5 to the treatment, too much for my pup.Again Thank you all i appreciate the comments. By the way I know nothing about speedtrials and wonder can joe public watch the trials I am too old to try something like that with my dogs but sure would love to hear and see a competition. I raise Treeing walkers anyway.
