To add to what Randal said look for the rechagables that are in the 2400-2600mah. They will last longer.

I used Rayovac and Duracell but they were less than 2400Mah..and I would have to switch them out during the day.

I got my hands on some enercell (I think) that were 2600Mah and they would last all day.

Enercell 2500 work all day for me.

The best rechargeable batteries i have seen or used are the eneloop batteries i believe they are made by samsung. They sell them at costco. Two batteries will last pretty much all day with the unit on tracking and zooming in and out
