Re: MASSACHUSETTS STATE FOX HUNTERS ASSOCIATION

Mr. Snapps, i understand where you are coming from about it being fair to the dogs but, alot of things arent fair in field trialing. Its not fair for a pack of 20 come running a fox and 75 coming down the road to cut them off, its not fair to go to hunt in 1000 acres and have 15 judges and really only have 5 good ones out of the 15 but thats the way it is, fair for one as for the other thye list goes on and on, and yes i know daylight and eyesight dont lie. If ahound is that good or that bad it will show up daylight or dark. How many times have you seen ahound win in the daylight eat it up in hunting and trailing and put up very little speed, to me he aint worthy of champion but thats the way it is.
The main layout of this hunt is mainly about the endurance of the hound thats why you run 11 hours straight. There is enough daylight at this hunt to score for hunting and once it gets dark there is wall to wall running. If you were to come to this hunt you would find out its probaly better than most you attend.
I understand peoples concern about it being in the dark. I can almost promise you this , the hounds that place you will see them doing good and the ones that get scratched you will see that to,and of course just like every hunt some will slip thru the cracks.
Lets all stick together and ENJOY the hunts.

p.s. i feel like ACORN RIDGE after this long post
just kidding MARC
