I use a couple different meds for worms. Ivomec is a must once a month for heart worms and a few others, make certain that the hound has been treated for heart worms first. This info should come with the hound when you get it. If its not over 18 month's and you don't know use smaller dose diluted with water other wise give 1/2 cc to 3/4 cc with 1 cc clean water or mix with your regular worm meds. As far as what works there are a lot of choices. Most of them are similar.
I use pyrantel pomoate with the vanilla our butterscotch taste start out on puppies they like the taste which makes the task much easier. Make sure you get the yellow flavor and the dose should be or say 150-200 mg per spoon. I use a 3 cc syringe give 2 to 3 cc 's three days in a row once a month. During the spring I will use valbazen or synanthic every other month from March to November. The pyrantel is the same ingredient as nemex ,strongid T, and several others but the dose is different. sell some that's weak only 10-20 mg in a spoon small bottle for 8-10 bucks don't waste your money. Get up with one of the hound supply guys on the front page they should be able to y hook you up. Watch what you hear from vetanarian Clinics some not all will tell you that you can't give this or that then charge you an arm and leg to give the same stuff I just said. Most of the vets. Don't like running Hounds houndsman because the Hounds run deer fox and coyote etc. Also they loose money by you treating your dogs rather than taking them for high price test and specific treatments which if you treat monthly then you are good and have most anything covered.
