We hunt 3, sometimes 4/5 days a week. We run mostly in the winter. Just a little note---your hounds must be deer proof, the law can shot your hound running deer year around and it's a $500.00 fine per dog if they want to press charges. The public has the right from Jan 1 to Jly 15 to also shoot.
Very little sight running and we like to keep the pack down to 2 or 3 hounds. Lot easier to judge on which one get's it's teeth into the throat first.
You are welcome to use a GPS or tracking system if you must, but all the guys up here just listen to the race and we all know when the catch is made.

If you want you can have the fur.

No entry fee---but than again we save on paint and trophies. Most days end in fun, but some times we lose one to a road or river. But the the one thing for sure, we all look forward to the next time we "cut them loose."
