Re: Garmin versus Tracking Collars ???????

Randell i have to respectfully disagree with you on your assessment that the garmin collars track as far as beep beep collars. My experiences have shown that the garmins are good for 2-5 miles with the optional antennas that you talked about. My Wildlife 2000 will pick my Johnson collars up a good bit further away than that. In fact we have sometimes use the Johnson collars to pin point the hound so that we can get close enough for the garmin collars to pick them up. Now this is in eastern north carolina. I say that because i am not sure where you are from and the terrain can affect the performance of tracking collars. In any event if garmin can ever work the kinks out i believe it will make traditional tracking collars obsolete. I just hope that they will be able to add additional transmitters as well.
