Re: spots on dogs ankels?

I ran my infected young hound today for the first time in probably 45 days. It was raining and when I caught him up, the sores looked terrible. I am sorry that I punished my hound like this. My local vet said that this was a 'mean hombre.' He does not think it is a fungal infection......not a bacteria, not a protozoa either. Anyway, the wear and tear from running plus the three hours in the rainfall made the approximately 10 sores really mean looking. If you read my earlier post, I was concerned about the iodine as I know this disinfectant can be fatal but the iodide is somewhat different in its chemistry. I do not think that athlete's foot medicine will destroy these sores. I thought about applying PURE chlorox bleach as it might burn them off. Probably cannot make the sores any worse. Still looking for advice.
