We were very lucky with the weather for our March 12th hunt. Weather man said we would have storms by
7:00 am and I was sure a lot of hunters would stay home and avoid the risk of all that rain and lightning but they were very brave to come out and it paid off. The rain did not get to us until mid morning and for a while it did pour something fierce but it did not last long. We cast 183 hounds at 6:38 am so by the time the rain
came we were well into the hunt. I think everything went well and I have a lot of people to thank for that.
The Master of Hounds Scott Harvey did a great job and his assistant was Bill Holden (a seasoned veteran).
Other judges were as follows: Timothy Squires, Tommy Carter, Scott Mills, Sammy Jacobs, Danny Fowler,
James Benton , Cecil Lee, and Jason Shields. Good job fellows.
Danny Fowler also served as Bench Show Judge and Jason Shields also served as Ring Master. Thank all of you for doing a great job.
I would also like to thank Brandon Strickland for helping me in the kitchen and for a lot of miscellaneous work.
Really appreciate all your help.
Terrie Holden posted the scores and did a great job as usual and also helped Hilda take entries. Lisa McShane helped me with both meals as well as selling plates and cleaning up the kitchen. She also took pictures and posted them to speed dogs and face book. Thanks to both of you . Don’t know how we would get it done without your help.
I want to continue to thank the Feed Companies who support our hunts and their Reps and they are Mike Carr with Pride, Randy McGovern with Show Time, Ronnie Mace with Value Pak and Buddy Boy from Gurganus Milling Co.
Congratulations to all the winners and also to the 50/50 winner . We collected $332.00 for ticket drawn and the same amount plus $183.00($1.00 per entry ) from C&M and $100.00 from me for a family with a child with medical problems. Please let us know if you know someone with a child who has a lot of medical issues. Also a cooler was given away from a drawing from all the entries since we had over 120. This went to Steve and Vicki Jordan.
I do hope everyone had a good time and will come back for our April 9th hunt.
