Ansley was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer that affects “one in a million” children under the age of 3, according to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s website. She was originally diagnosed with a mass on her liver while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. A CT Scan showed the mass to be approximately 2 1/4” wide by nearly 4” long. Ansley was then transported in the early hours of Wednesday morning to UNC Children’s Hospital at Chapel Hill for more specialized testing. After extensive blood work, multiple x-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans and MRIs, Ansley’s doctors were able to report that she in fact had 3 tumors versus the 1 large tumor seen on the originally CT Scan.
All monies raised will go to the the Honeycutt family to help cover expenses.
To those who can't make the hunt, there is a gofundme page set up for donations!
Come on out and support this family during such a time in their lives!
