UK 2009

I really wish I could excited about the proposals for the UK's entry for 2009. No matter what the contest might be called and getting Andrew Lloyd-Webber involved (I bet he doesn't write the song), we are almost inevitably doomed to get a lengthy contest full of talent-free wannabees nobody has ever heard of fighting out for last place in Moscow. The rest of Europe will be totally underwhelmed by an unheard of amateur singing for the UK. If a a gifted singer like Andy Abraham can't get any votes why should some hopeless anonymous kid do any better? The UK really needs a well-known (if desperate) singer to represent them and this just isn't going to happen. Oh dear.

Re: UK 2009

I agree! Makes no sense to me. But at least it could get the ordinary bod in the street interested again. Then perhaps in a couple of years Auntie might move closer to the way the Swedes do it.
