Germantown Brickyard
Hi, does anyone remember me. My name was Patty Leyrer and I grew up on Bringhurst Street. I went to John Wister elementary school and bought my penny candy at Jennys. I also went to Roosevelt Jr High, Wagner Jr High and graduated from Germantown High in 1966. If anybody out there remembers me, please e-mail. My cousin Bobby Leyrer from Hansberry Street just visited and put me in touch with this site. I would love to hear from anyone from the old neighborhood!!
Hi Pat, this is Ron Majka. How are you doing? I had seen an entry of yours on Classmates several months ago but it was on my brother-in-law's computer. I tried sending my e-mail address to you but I never got a response so I figured maybe you never got to see the entry.
My wife went to Germantown High and graduated the same year as you. As a matter of fact, you and her are (obviously) in the yearbook. I married Jacqueline Scott in 1968 and we're still together. Guess I lucked out.
Anyway if you want to keep in touch you can e-mail me. I have been in touch with Martha Turner via e-mail but other than that there are not too many of our neighbors that keep in touch.
My son mentioned you had gotten in touch with him via facebook but I have been a little hesitant to go that route. I don't know why but I am not confortable with facebook.
Hey Ron, how are you? I was married in 1968 but divorced and then married again in 1975, this time for 35 years. I was so excited to hear about this website from my cousin Bobby. He said a lot of people from the old neighborhood get together now and then. I hope to see some of you at the next gathering. I am retired now from nursing, my mother is in a nursing home due to alzheimers disease and my dad lives with me in Chester County. I have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I would love to get in touch with Martha and Ruthie but when I try I don't seem to be able to find them. Anyway, You take good care and keep in touch. Regards, Patti
