Re: "étterem" versus "vendéglő"

They are basically the same. However, "étterem" usually refers to something higher quality, more formal, larger place and perhaps more variety of food. Although there could be exceptions (lower quality "étterem", and higher quality "vendéglő"). "Vendéglő" may also offer more of local food, something people eat at home.
