Tracing Settlement in Burma

Dear All the Honorable War Veterans
I am trying to trace a group of people/community called the "Poi" told to us by our ancestors that we live with them in Burma but due to the attrocities by the Burma king "Awa" we migrated to the present Hills of Manipur(India)bodering Burma. But we don't know whether they exist today or not. If you have any knowledge about the 'Poi', 'Uipo', 'Apong' or the "Awa" regimein Burma please do let me know. NB: We call ourselves 'Uipo' and were called 'Apong' in the Inthee(believed to be Ningthee) or Chindwin river basin civilization in Myanmar. Today officially we are called 'Khoibu’ in Manipur (India). According to our oral history The first settlement was at 'Mongrengphai' in Myanmar (Burma). Gradually, their civilization spreaded along the Inthee basin, in the Angoching Range and in the Yoomadung Hills. They settled at 'Marpaaphai' near the Chindwin river basin and spreaded to different places or villages known an Thipaamna, Sanam, Sawngkaan, Khampat, kameng, Lataa, Taap, Lichik, Waasaaphai, Mangsaa, Tuibawngpui etc. in Myanmar. The most prosperous time of civilization of Khoibu tribe is still said to be the one under reign of Mikhongpaa in Chindwin river basin, Angoching range and Yoomadung Hills in Myanmar (Kabaw valley). The population of Khoibu by then was believed to be counted by tens of thousands which was considered large enough to fight big battles at that time.
