Re: R.A.M.C. Imphal, 24 I.C.C.S.,7373739 Pte Bill Wallwork.

Hi Jamie

My grandad was in Burma in the battle of sangshak which I think started or ended at Imphal I'm tryin to remember now. I read one of his book a few years ago I'm sure it was called the battle of sangshak. He had lots of books. Very sadly he passed away yesterday hence my appearing on this site. When we find some of his books I will let you know more.

Like most of that generation he very rarely spoke of anything to do with the war in Burma and that which he did mention was very sad indeed. I am also very keen to learn more about what happened with his regiment and of that time so if you come across any more information please let me know also. Im sure he was with the 154th. In the meantime I hope you find this useful. May we praise each and every man that gave their lives in that terrible war.

Regards

James
