Re: 59th LAA/179th RA

Hi
farndale's 'History of the Royal Regiment of Artillery' v6 has the following:
made up of 179th, 183rd, 184th LAA batteries.

9 Apr 42 arrived Bombay and moved to Calcutta
23 May 1943 at Bandra with 36 Indian Div
17 July 43 at Ahmednagar under British 2nd Div
4 Dec 43 to Nira under 1st RM AA Brigade
16 June 1944 Poona
24 Oct 44 disbanded

Nothing in the text. My reading (I could be wrong) is that they were in India all the way through and did not make it into Burma. By the time the 2nd Division moved to relieve Imphal they had joined the 1st RM AA Brigade.
