1st Northants

My late father, Herbert Edwin Burton should have joined 1st Warwicks who were stationed in India but was diverted, along with with his fellow new intake of Warwicks to Imphal and attached to 1st Northants during the battle and for the rest of the war and after. He finished as a platoon sergeant and the last date I have is at Changi, September 1946 in his platoon roster, before returning home to the coldest winter in living memory. Like many others, I wish I had found out a lot more about his experiences rather than the few stories he told me. The platoon designation is not given but I have 29 names other than his should anyone be interested. I would also be interested to know whether any of them are still alive. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further info re. his platoon comrades.
