records

Hi there, I'm just asking a question. I have, at my mum's place a reasonably large collection of original Jolson records that were my dad's. At this time I have no idea of what's there. All my life they have just been in the cupboard. My day died 30 years ago and I have no memory of them ever being played. I'm assuming that they are of a 1930's/1940's vintage. Is there anything that I should be looking out for? Or are this vintage records commonplace? Obviously, condition is of prime concern. I know a lot about collecting, but nothing about records. Any help/advice would be most welcome.

Thanks
Alan

Re: records

Hello Alan, just to let you know that Jolson's 78's are reasonably easy to obtain most of the time. Although, like all things collectable, one or two may turn out to be somewhat rarer than others! A good guide to the value on these sort of things IMO, is to log onto Ebay, type in 'Al Jolson' and see what is going on any given day. Hope this helps,
Pat.

Thank you for your help Pat. Much appreciated.
