The Grindon Parish Fire Appliances

Has anyone got any information about Grindon Parish’s fire appliances? What form did they take and who would have been responsible for their operation?

I have seen reference to the issue of a cheque for £1.0.0 in a letter date 17th October 1922 from Stockton Rural District Council to a Mr. J. Jamieson of Grindon (Parish). A Mr. James Jamieson ran the Hamilton Russell Arms between at least 1902 and 1925. If such appliances did serve the Parish presumably they were horse drawn and could have presumably been stored in the stable block that once stood behind the H-R Arms.
