Last year my friends and I went camping unaccompanied for the first time - all by ourselves: the route, tents, food, campfire. It wasn't perfect, of course: we forgot our raincoats, we could barely make fire in the damp and mosquitoes were biting like crazy. But still it was one of the best weekends ever. Sitting by the fire, potatoes baked in the coals, and the forest around you making noise... I want to do it again, but without joints. Do you want to share your own tips and tricks - what does an ideal camping trip look like for you?
Oh, that sounds awesome! I had something similar - a couple years ago, my brother and I climbed up into the mountains for a weekend. The weather changed drastically and we had to improvise on the spot, but in the end it was super. Since then, I've gotten more serious about my checklist, from thermos to water filter. I wrote about it a bit here - life in Idaho - in case anyone finds it useful. There are a couple ideas in there on how to make camping not just “get over it” but really get high off of it.
I read the whole topic - I want to go to the forest! Although I haven't been camping for a long time, but the atmosphere around the campfire is certainly a thing. Even if everything is not perfect, the memories afterwards are the warmest. Thanks for the inspiration, guys.
