Apples from seed follow up

I have read garden action site and others which say that if plant a supermarket apple seed you may end up with something inedible. However, my work has an apple tree grown from a thrown apple core 40-50 years ago. The apples are my perfect apple. How can this tree be replicated at my house? Can it be done by professional horticulturalists at a reasonable cost

Many Thanks

Re: Apples from seed follow up

Hi, That's great that the apples have turned out well. It is of course just luck, there is no way to know how a supermarket apple pip will turn out. Mostly not good but occasionally, as in your case, you get a great one!

Yes you can replicate this tree. Find someone who will graft a cutting of the tree onto a good rootstock and the chances of success are extremely high.
