We have recently purchased and planted a small apple tree and now the leaves appear to be folding lenth ways. Whilst we can not see any insects parts of the leaves seem to be bolbous in places. The blossom seemed to be fine and the leaves appear to be the right colour.
Can anyone please advise us. We are very new at this!!
Hi, this is not unusual with apple trees, some varieties are more prone than others. I'm sure it is a tiny pest attacking the leaves, often not visible to the naked eye. As long as the tree is healthy otherwise I would ignore it. Pamper it maybe with a mulch of well-rotted compost to help it get through this minor problem.
